Overview

A more comprehensive introduction to Microsoft Power BI for users who need to work with larger datasets, more detailed reporting requirements and more advanced data models. This course covers the full Power BI workflow, from importing and preparing data through to modelling, analysis, report design and sharing options.

• Understanding the Power BI interface, ecosystem and workflow
• Connecting to Excel, CSV files, folders and other common data sources
• Cleaning, transforming and combining data using Power Query
• Working with append and merge queries
• Building effective data models using tables and relationships
• Understanding star schema design and data modelling best practice
• Creating DAX measures and calculations
• Using CALCULATE and common analytical patterns
• Creating clear, interactive reports and visualisations
• Using drill-through pages, tooltips and bookmarks
• Understanding publishing, sharing, workspaces and permissions
